Mark & Jenny Avers

Mark & Jenny Avers participated in home church planting ministry for 25 years; sharing the good news of Jesus with fellow seekers, studying and learning God's word with fellow believers, and growing in understanding of brokenness and grace in the beautiful, messy relationships of their faith community.

Mark grew up in Ethiopia; and as an adult TCK, he has been serving and walking alongside cross-cultural messengers since early 2000. Mark joined Barnabas in 2010. Jenny has been teaching Kindergarten to 8th grade Math in a Christian school; tutoring students who were either struggling to understand Math or who were so advanced that they found regular classroom math boring.

Jenny joined Barnabas in June 2023 and was recently invited onto the Board of SHARE Educational Services (in Budapest).

Mark serves as an adjunct Coach and Facilitator at Mission Training International (MTI) Debriefing and Renewal (DAR) retreats in Colorado Springs.

Both Jenny and Mark love to visit cross-cultural workers overseas to listen to their stories, pray with them, and encourage them in their relationship with Jesus. They regularly meet with overseas workers for Zoom counseling and enjoy hosting overseas workers in their home for rest, refreshment, and/or pastoral care.

Together Mark and Jenny offer three to five-day personal debriefing retreats to individuals and couples.
